Review the computer you want to keep using

You can include the small frustrations that have built up over time, such as startup delays or applications that misbehave. We discuss findings and useful work rather than automatically replace parts. No assessment can guarantee the device will never develop another fault.

  • Discuss current delays, errors and other concerns.
  • Review relevant software and update status.
  • Check storage use and appropriate performance indicators.
  • Look at startup programs and unwanted software where relevant.
  • Discuss existing backups and how to check them.
  • Explain repair, upgrade or ongoing care options.

Common questions

What is included in a computer health check?

A health check can be useful on a newer computer with software or setup concerns as well as an older one. Explain what you want assessed.

Can you check a Mac as well as a Windows PC?

We assess supported Macs as well as Windows computers, considering performance, software and hardware concerns appropriate to the particular device.

Will a health check prevent every breakdown?

Any recommended parts or extra work are discussed first. Upgrades are considered from the findings and what the device supports, rather than included automatically.

What should I tell you before the check?

Related email, printer and network tasks can be discussed together. Mention them when arranging the check so the appointment can cover your priorities.

How do I find out about pricing?

Our minimum labour time is one hour per job, and many jobs only need that hour. If more time is needed, we bill in 15 minute blocks. We do not charge call-out fees or travel costs. For onsite work, the time starts when your technician arrives. Parts cost extra if needed. The total depends on the fault and the work required, so we can give a more accurate estimate after diagnosis. Call us on 1300 376 225 to discuss pricing, or use our repair estimate form to send the details.

How long should I allow for the job?

Many jobs take around an hour, which is our minimum labour time per job. If extra time is needed, we bill in 15 minute blocks. After diagnosing the issue, your technician can give a more accurate time estimate and explain the options, taking the work needed and your budget into account. Some repairs need parts or work offsite, which can affect the time before the computer is ready.
