Laptop repairs in Canberra

Australian Computer Doctors helps Canberra laptop users with repairs, setup and everyday support. We work with Windows laptops and MacBooks across hardware faults, software problems, accounts and the equipment connected to the device.

Tell our Canberra team which device and connected equipment are involved. We can discuss pricing and arrange a visit in the ACT or Queanbeyan, or consider remote support where the task allows it.

Help with the laptop and how you use it

You can describe a damaged part or a task that no longer works without choosing the cause yourself. The model and symptoms help us discuss an assessment, then the technician can explain the practical repair choices and any required parts.

We explain the findings in plain English and can discuss several related tasks during the appointment. Let us know about important information and your priorities before work begins.

  • Investigate hardware faults and physical damage.
  • Assess damaged screens, charging and other part failures.
  • Resolve software, startup and performance issues.
  • Help with email, Wi-Fi and printer connections.
  • Prepare a new laptop and transfer files.
  • Discuss repairs, upgrades and replacement options.

Getting ready for the appointment

  • Find the model or take a photo of its label if possible.
  • Have the charger and any affected accessories ready.
  • Describe what happened before the problem appeared.
  • Tell us about important files and existing backups.

Common questions

Do you repair MacBooks as well as Windows laptops?

Yes. We assess both hardware and software faults on MacBooks and Windows laptops, with options depending on the model and cause.

Can you assess a broken laptop part?

Yes. A model number and useful photo can help us discuss the damage, with diagnosis establishing the repair and parts needed.

Can you help with setup and software too?

Yes. Email, printing, files and setting up a new laptop are included alongside hardware repairs.

Should I repair an old laptop or replace it?

We consider the fault and whether the laptop would still meet your needs. Normal diagnosis fees apply if repair proves uneconomical.

How do I find out about pricing?

Our minimum labour time is one hour per job, and many jobs only need that hour. If more time is needed, we bill in 15 minute blocks. We do not charge call-out fees or travel costs. For onsite work, the time starts when your technician arrives. Parts cost extra if needed. The total depends on the fault and the work required, so we can give a more accurate estimate after diagnosis. Call us on (02) 6223 2333 to discuss pricing, or use our repair estimate form to send the details.

How long should I allow for the job?

Many jobs take around an hour, which is our minimum labour time per job. If extra time is needed, we bill in 15 minute blocks. After diagnosing the issue, your technician can give a more accurate time estimate and explain the options, taking the work needed and your budget into account. Some repairs need parts or work offsite, which can affect the time before the computer is ready.
