Security & Scams
Need a Computer Security Report for Your Bank?
Bank requested a computer clean in Wollongong? We come to you for security checks, malware removal and a written report of the work completed.
If your bank wants a technician to check your computer after a scam, Australian Computer Doctors can visit you in Wollongong. We can investigate security concerns, carry out appropriate cleanup work and provide a written service report.
Perhaps the bank has asked for a certificate, or simply told you to get the computer professionally cleaned. Either way, let us know the instructions you have received so we can discuss what is required.

What is a computer clearance report?
It is a written record of professional checks and the work carried out on a device. The wording banks use varies, and customers may refer to it as a clearance certificate, malware removal report or computer cleaning certificate. We can document our findings and actions, but the bank determines what it needs and whether the report is acceptable.
What do you look for after a scam?
Depending on the incident, checks may include malware scans, installed remote access tools, suspicious browser extensions and programs that start with the computer. Relevant security settings and antivirus protection can also be reviewed. We will discuss further action if the findings suggest that removing individual programs is not enough.
Why have it checked if everything seems fine?
A scammer may have used software that does not cause obvious errors or slow the computer down. They may also have obtained information without installing malware. The purpose of the visit is to consider what happened and inspect the device, rather than assume normal operation means there is nothing to address.
Do you come to my home?
Yes. Our usual approach is an onsite appointment, supporting both Windows computers and Macs. You can show us the affected device and any instructions from your bank. There is no need to take it somewhere first. If further offsite work is needed, the technician can explain the reason and arrangements.
What about my email and passwords?
Computer cleanup and account recovery are connected but separate tasks. Information already shared cannot be taken back by uninstalling a program. We can help you understand sensible account security steps and which providers to contact. Your bank remains responsible for banking access, disputed transactions and its investigation.
